Energy storage

Battery systems matched to the site—not just the sales brochure.

Commercial and home battery storage designed around load, solar generation, tariffs, available power, resilience requirements and the existing electrical installation.

What should a battery achieve?

The right system depends on the problem being solved. That may be storing excess PV generation, reducing peak-time imports, shifting energy to cheaper periods, supporting an EV load or improving resilience.

We assess the electrical installation and intended operating strategy before deciding equipment, capacity and connection method.

  • Commercial and domestic battery systems
  • Hybrid solar-and-storage installations
  • AC-coupled battery additions
  • Load and energy-flow monitoring
  • Protection, isolation and distribution work
  • Testing, configuration and handover
Commercial SolaX battery-storage system

Commercial storage

Storage integrated with generation, tariffs and commercial load patterns, with space, access and electrical infrastructure considered from the start.

Home batteries

Well-positioned systems with tidy wiring, correct protection and controls explained clearly at handover.

Existing solar

Assessment for adding storage to an existing PV installation, including AC-coupled and compatible hybrid routes.

Battery-storage questions

How large should the battery be?

Capacity should follow actual consumption, solar yield, tariff strategy and the power the battery must deliver—not simply the largest unit that fits.

Can a battery be added to existing solar?

Often, yes. The best method depends on the existing inverter, connection arrangement, equipment compatibility and what you want the battery to do.

Do you install commercial batteries nationwide?

GF Electrical is based in Rotherham and considers suitable commercial projects across the UK.
